Open Letter: Dear Mom Blogger

Dear Mom Blogger,

I see you.

It’s the third month of the year and yet, you’ve only published two blog posts. Don’t even get me started on YouTube and that podcast people forget you have.

I see you…

Your followers are at a virtual standstill and your engagement is in the dumps. It’s like folks don’t understand that you need both of those things you show these brands why you would be THE perfect candidate to work with.

I see you…

Denial after denial and you’re wondering why things aren’t going your way. You spend so much time creating what you know is great content. Yet, it’s not yielding the returns you hoped for.

Oh trust me, I see you…

The week just started and your little one came home with a new sight words list. You also forgot she had a packet due this week but only two pages are done. At some point, you’ll get some sleep after you get that post up on your social. Right?

I see you…

Here’s the thing — I know there are so many things you’re up against mom blogger. There are content calendars, deadlines, pitches, momming, wifing, and some self-care if you’re lucky. People don’t understand how much time, money, and effort goes into what you do — but I do. Why? Because I’m a mom blogger like you.

So you didn’t get that campaign you pitched for. I know it is disappointing but guess what — there’s something better out there for you. I just want you to remember one thing. You’re a mom first and a blogger second. Period.

None of this would be possible without our littles and I like to think that sometimes, those dry spells and disappointments are reality checks. It’s so easy to get caught up creating content that we forget to nurture the reason(s) why we‘re able to do what we do.

So, mom blogger — I see you and I hear you. I just want you to remember that they see and hear you too. Show your littles a little more love today — after all, they’re the ones that make you you <3

Love,

Bee
